The presence of such a tank in the cold supply system extends the service life of the refrigeration equipment compressor units by increasing the system pulsing and reducing the number of compressor power up and down. When it comes to a solid fuel boiler, such a storage tank protects the boiler against accidental boiling and subsequent explosion, increases boiler efficiency, reduces fuel consumption by 50%, and prevents the chimney from becoming actively clogged with tar.

Depending on the intended use, the tank can be insulated with the following materials:

• The outside of the tank is coated with heat-resistant paint and covered with a 20 mm thick black rubber foam. The inside of the tank is unpainted according to the requirements for tanks operating as part of heating/cooling systems.
• If the tank is operated as part of a heating system, the tank insulation may be performed using NOFIRE technology with 70 mm thick, 100% recyclable polyester (which is an environmentally friendly material) with a high R-value and B-s2d0 high fire-resistance class in accordance with the European EN 13501 requirements.
